Does Temple Israel do rentals for Non-Members?
Yes, we welcome both members and non-members to rent our facility.

Does Temple Israel have non-profit rental rates?
Yes, we have a discounted rate for non-profit organizations.

If I want to host my event on a weekend is there an additional charge?
Yes, there is an additional fee. Please inquire.

If I am planning on having a Life Cycle event at the Temple and I am not a member could a member of the Clergy still attend?
Absolutely. We welcome you to our community and we would be happy to have one of our Clergy members present.

What is Temple Israel’s dietary policy?
We ask that food served be kosher style, however we are not a strictly kosher facility.

I would like to sponsor a Kiddush/Oneg for the congregation in honor of my event/ lifecycle. How do I go about doing this?
We welcome you to sponsor a Kiddush/Oneg to celebrate your event/lifecycle. There is an additional fee for this and you will be listed in our monthly bulletin and weekly handout as sponsors. With the sponsorship, our caterer augments the food for approximately 50 people.

What is the maximum capacity for each room?

  • Ballroom: Seated at tables with Dance Floor- 160 people, Seated at tables without dance floor- 220 people, Auditorium style 154 people
  • Reception A: Seated at tables- 65 people, Auditorium style- 80 people
  • Reception B: Seated at tables- 40 people, Auditorium style- 50 people
  • Reception C: Seated at table- 25 people, Auditorium style-35
  • Sanctuary – Main Floor: 395 people
  • Sanctuary – Balcony: 500 people
  • Chapel: Seated at tables 55 people, Auditorium style- 70 people

Is there a charge for tables/chairs/AV equipment?
There are no additional charges for tables/chairs. We do have a selection of additional resources available at an additional cost. Please inquire.

Is the building Handicap accessible?
Yes, we have handicap accessible bathrooms as well an elevator to take you to different floors in our building.

Is there a dance floor in the Ballroom?
Yes, our Ballroom has a dance floor.

Does the Temple have Wi-Fi?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available on floor A.

Does Temple Israel have Parking?
We do not provide parking, however there are several parking garages within a few blocks including across the street. – Garage Management Co (75th between park and Lexington): 212-628-5770, Champion Lenox (77th between Lexington and 3rd Ave): 212-650-1280

How do we get to Temple Israel on Public Transportation?
6 Train to 77th Street.

What are the cross streets?
Temple Israel is located on 75th street between Park and Lexington Avenues on the south side of the street.
