NYConnect 20s and 30s
With New York City as our stage, NYConnect (a Temple Israel of the City of New York Project) creates opportunities for adults in their 20s and 30s to experience life and celebrate Judaism together. Through informal social gatherings, meaningful conversations, spiritual/ritual events, and cultural and educational programs, young professionals - whether it's 10 or 100 people - connect with each other, with Judaism, and with opportunities for growth and engagement. New to the City or just looking to connect, join us; our community is always open.

Join NYConnect 20s/30s at Temple Israel as one of our own, Sasha Kopp, leads us in a glass workshop. As part of this workshop, each one of us will get to design and make our own glass mezuzah for our door or the door of someone in our lives.

If you or another young professional in their 20s/30s does not have a place for a 1st night seder, we have a seat for you! Join NYConnect 20s/30s as we embark on a unique seder journey at Temple Israel, complete with a full Kosher-for-Passover meal, drinks, Passover fun, and wonderful people.
Meet the Coordinators
Sarah Stein & Rabbi David Reinhart
Sarah, originally from Stratford, CT, graduated from Brandeis University in 2017 with a B.A. in Business and Anthropology. In 2018, Sarah joined Temple Israel of the City of New York as the Education Coordinator and Youth Director. Sarah grew up going to the Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) Crane Lake Camp in West Stockbridge, MA.
David attended the University of Michigan, graduating in 2012 with a B.S. in Anthropology and Evolution. After being ordained as a rabbi from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, OH, David moved to New York and joined Temple Israel as a Rabbi this past summer, 2019. David also grew up at URJ summer camp, Goldman Union Camp Institute (GUCI) in Zionsville, IN. A born and raised Midwesterner, he is still trying to figure out what it means to be a new New Yorker.
For both of us, Jewish community is a meaningful and essential part of our lives. The more we connect with and learn from one another the more we improve ourselves, our communities, and our world. This is our aspiration for NYConnect. We hope to provide fun and meaningful experiences where real connections can be made. We hope to create opportunities for Judaism to come alive and to live our Jewish values. We hope to promote a warm, welcoming, accepting, supportive community where we all belong. Together, we can build such a community. We hope you’ll join us and become a part of NYConnect.
